Houston Area Parks

Houston is such a  sprawling city with busy highways and an amazing downtown, that it can be easy to forget about the great park system. When you need to get out and enjoy a bit of nature, the City of Houston has a webpage set up to help you find the perfect outdoor spot for you and your family. You can choose from different activity types and even find out which parks are scheduled to be closed for improvements.

Many art exhibits are also installed in the parks. The Agnes Moffitt Park is now home to a sculpture called “High Plains Drifter”. This large metal work is eye catching and fun for kids to figure out how the name fits.
