Beer & Hot Sauce Make for a Perfect Match This Weekend!

What makes your dinner to close out your day more flavorful and relaxing? Beer and hot sauce are standard fare for order-in dinner, but Bravado Spice and Karbach Brewing Company have elevated this elegantly simple combination into a gourmet delight. Available in one package dining experience at LowBrow, a bar bedecked in Houston culture, this is an event you don’t want to miss!

It’s hard to find a new take on an old favorite that isn’t just a slight variation on the norm, but Bravado Spice has truly committed to crafting a new taste experience for hot sauce lovers and a bold, surprising encounter for new fans of the genre. James Nelson of Master Chef fame and his partners are artisans of a range of hot sauces that have incredibly focused flavor with heat levels that run the gamut from mild to extra spicy.

Karbach Brewing Company is another Houston start-up located off Karbach Street (hence the name) that hosts tours and tastings every Monday, Thursday and Friday from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm, and Saturdays from 12-3pm. With events all over Houston, Karbach’s popularity has gathered quite a bit of steam since its inception a few years ago, and their range of Pale Ales hand selected to go with Bravado Spice’s hot sauces promise to help tame the heat.

And while Bravado Spice brings the flavor and Karbach brings the beer, LowBrow is an exceptional new ‘food & drink place,’ as they put it. Located at W. Main St and Mandell, LowBrow has some of the most creative food choices imaginable. Their Juicy Lucy was recently voted by Houston Culture Map as one of the best new burgers in town (I’ve tried it and I have to agree).

But more than being rooted in Houston culture by the people who bring you Free Press, more than pairing with other Houston start-ups, more even than being located in the Montrose neighborhood, LowBrow is a monument to Houston pride. The wallpaper features various Houston landmarks, the walls are covered in famous Houstonians—even the specials are named things like, “Mattress Mac and Cheese,” after Mattress Mac, the Houston institution of quotable catchphrases and superb furniture vis-a-vis Gallery Furniture (saves you money… today!)

The price tag is a little hefty but it insures a bounty of beer, hot sauce and 3 courses of food, a popsicle break, and a dessert course (check out the menu below). Space is limited, so get your tickets today!
