Houston Hotspots for Those Who Brunch

Arguably, brunch is just about the greatest meal ever invented.

You aren’t required to get up early, it gives you the perfect excuse to indulge in a “real” drink before 12 pm and who can pass up the delicious combination of breakfast and lunch? Overall, brunch is a great opportunity for many enjoyable moments and the restaurants in Houston know it! We found some of the best places you can fulfill your waffle fix and grab a cocktail or two.

Want to head downtown for your brunch? We suggest stopping in at one of two Hearsay Gastro Lounge locations for their $12 bottomless mimosas and live music until 2 pm on Sundays. Their take on American dishes will keep you coming back along with the decadently elegant atomsphere. And, now the Heresay on the Green location, their delicious brunch menu is served all day!

However, if you happen to be in the Greenway Plaza/Upper Kirby area you absolutely cannot miss the amazing atmosphere of the Hobbit Café. Filled to the brim with Tolkien posters, artifacts and memorabilia, it serves Mimosas, Bellinis, and Bloody Mary’s for an affordable price of $3.50 each during brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am to 2 pm.

Also in the area is Backstreet Cafe, which offers craft cocktails alongside amazing breakfast foods and heartier lunch fare such as sausage stuffed quail from 10 am-3 pm. Their brunch is so good that you are advised to make reservations to avoid the wait.

Then, there’s Max’s Wine Dive! We certainly cannot mention brunch without talking about this Washington Ave hotspot. They offer an upscale atmosphere with down home food such as their take on fried chicken and waffles, known as Jake’s Cakes and Wings.

If you’re in the Heights area, Down House is where it’s at! You’ll need a good drink to wash down their famous Kimchi burger, and we suggest you make it their signature Bloody Mary which features a chicken wing as a garnish and comes with a beer backer.

So make it a date! Grab some friends, drag yourselves out of bed at the crack of noon and get yourself some brunch at one of Houston’s hottest spots for lazy breakfast fare. You won’t be disappointed, we assure you!
