Originally founded as River Oaks Baptist Church 50 years ago, River Oaks Baptist School has become a premiere independent school in Houston. Educating students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade, the school provides an environment that enriches children’s characters while educating their minds.
River Oaks Baptist encourages a range of teaching styles, and teachers work closely with parents to ensure each student is getting the best education possible. The grades are separated into Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School levels.
Preschools are given the freedom to work individually or in small groups, and can move about the classroom freely to encourage independence and creativity. In Lower School, they practice reflection, rigor, respect, reason, and responsibility. During Middle School the students are given more responsibilities academically, in their personality activities, and with church duties to inspire leadership.
