For many families, it’s important to send their children to a school that doesn’t just focus on academic excellence, but falls in line with their morals and values. With a mission to honor the Lord Jesus Christ, Cypress Christian School is preparing students for success in education and in life from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Founded in 1978 by a group of Christian parents, the school has been equipping its students with strong Christian faith and biblical values for more than 36 years. The school prides itself on having a strong community to help students perform at high academic standards so that they can use their God-given talents and abilities to contribute to a positive society.
According to Executive Director Stephen J. Novotny, Cypress Christian prepares students to not only earn a living, but “…to live in a way that has meaning, purpose and honor.”
During elementary grades (K-5), young minds are provided a full range of academic study subjects, but teachers give priority to teaching math and reading, with time mapped to allow students to enjoy time at the library each week. Plus, all grade levels are given formal instruction about the Bible in their class each year, including scriptural truths that are intertwined in each academic lesson in a practical way.
By the time students get to secondary instruction, (6-12) Cypress Christian students are already preparing for a successful future at a higher education. Not only are their SAT scores for graduating seniors an average of 1700, the SAT scores for the top 50% of graduating seniors is an impressive 1840. Pre-AP courses are made available to select students to ensure that all students are properly challenged and able to follow their own pace with help from teachers who care and make it their mission to teach as well as provide positive support and form meaning relationships in the community.
Each week, secondary students are required to attend chapel, which includes worship and thought provoking and challenging sermons from speakers and pastors. Plus, as this is a school that values families and its Christian community, parents and grandparents are welcome to attend.
