Young Minds Continue to Flourish at The Kinkaid School!

Since The Kinkaid School began over 100 years ago, the founders devoted themselves to their students. That devotion and dedication is key to the success that continues to this day. From Pre-K to 12th grade, the school is proud of their strong student body that remains rich in character and bound by tradition.

Kinkaid is the oldest independent co-educational school in Houston which was founded by Margaret Kinkaid in 1906. The school’s forty-acre campus is located in Piney Point Village in the Memorial area on the west side of Houston.

A unique feature of Kinkaid is the nearly four acres of land used solely as a nature study area, Kinkaid’s Backyard. Students are able to learn and understand natural ecosystems hands-on, compared to simply reading about it a textbook. Combining all senses in learning is something the Kinkaid staff embraces in all areas of education and is a factor in deciding wonderful field trips.

The Kinkaid community promotes honesty, responsibility, and kindness, which will help your child feel comfortable in the classroom thanks to the encouragement from the teachers and fellow classmates. The positivity and respectfulness flowing from the community makes each and every student take part in something bigger than themselves.

If you are a parent looking for a great school to send your child, visit The Kinkaid School before the start of the 2015-2016 school year.  You will be impressed by the amazing faculty and staff, the exceptional facilities, and great sense of community!

I love that the education at this school goes far beyond textbooks and memorization. The staff are giving their students the opportunity to appreciate and be good stewards of nature…that’s a lesson that’s important to learn at any age~

We couldn’t agree more Susan! It’s the hands-on experiences that we seem to remember and learn from the most. Students should definitely be given the opportunity to feel a part of something bigger than themselves, which is why The Kinkaid School is one of our favorites. Thank you for your feedback!

Great school. As a parent I know that a proper education, teaching morals and igniting the thirst for knowledge is the best gift we can give our children.

Very well said Susie! Our children are the future and we want them to be very well-rounded to take on the world. We hope you are off to a great start this morning!

I feel our schools should structures set in place to make education interesting so our children will be involved.

Absolutely Sophie, an interactive approach to learning is exciting for the children, and the information can be better understood as well! Thanks for sharing!
